Lei Making

A one hour workshop designed to create beautiful authentic lei with shells, seeds, carved out coconut flowers, fresh or silk flowers. Participants will learn the culture of Hawaii as they string their own traditional lei to the sounds of soothing Hawaiian music.

Ipu Craft

The Ipu Workshop will teach students the art and craft of the Hawaiian lpu drum as it relates to the culture of Hawaii. Students will learn the uses of this unique instrument as it ties together the ancient and modem culture of Hawaii, through hula, storytelling and crafting. Teachers will be equipped with a further educational opportunity to continue the study of the Ipu and its relationship to ancient culture. This in turn, will inspire students to embrace their own cultural heritage, as well as those of others. They will be encouraged to spread the “Aloha Spirit,” a working philosophy that enables and empowers people to live harmoniously with each other.
